Mini-Class & TV

It has been a wonderful, short winter, and spring is bringing some growth to the studio.
On February 29th, leap day in this leap year, I jumped into teaching a mini-class in the new kiln. This is something that is completely outside my comfort zone, but you (or at least a lot of you :-) ) have been asking me to do this for years... so I took the LEAP! 
We had 3 one-hour mini-classes with 4-6 people each on LEAP day - these wonderful guinea pigs taught me a lot, plus they got to take home a really cool project. And the coolest project of the day? the kids in the first ever class made portraits of their Guinea pigs! (image above) After learning a ton that one night, my friend, the Goddess of Glass, offered to let me audit one of her classes to help with my learning curve.
Now I'm ready to start offering these mini-classes on a regular schedule, though please know that if you have a small group, we can definitely schedule a private party. Saturday April 2nd and Tuesday April 12th are the next class dates. Reserve your seat online - purchase the class in my shop, and either pre-pay online or bring payment with you to class.

Evening Leap Class from February 29th!

The other seriously cool thing happening this spring is the airing of my second TV show, Handcrafted America. The began airing on Tuesday March 1st, and my episode is scheduled to air on April 19th. For those of you familiar with TPT's MN Original, this show has a similar premise. Hosted by Jill Wagner, the show hits the road, traveling the country to seek out talented artisans who continue to make products the traditional way…with their own two hands, creating, sought-after contemporary classics. And what's so completely awesome, they asked me to be part of the original season.
The filming for my segment took place the two days after the Fall Art Crawl, and let me tell you, it was quite the production. There were 4 crew members filming on Monday and 8 (EIGHT!) filming on Tuesday. Jill was absolutely a dream to meet, and the entire crew was so professional and completely amazing.
I can't wait to see the show!!!
